Types of advertising routes for a firm

Advertising routes are means by which a firm makes its products known to the public, so as to get more customers and increase sales. There are so many ways a firm can make its products known, these include ;


1. Website. A website , also written as web site, is a collection of related web pages, including multimedia content, typically identified with a common domain name, and published on at least one web server . A web site may be accessible via a public Internet Protocol (IP) network, such as the Internet , or a private local area network (LAN), by referencing a uniform resource locator (URL) that identifies the site. All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute the World Wide Web , while private websites are typically a part of an intranet. When you open a website,  it enables Internet readers to know more about your business. Websites are mainly for large scale businesses that can afford the cost of running it. Read more 

2. Blog. A blog (a truncation of the expression weblog ) is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first). Blogs are also similar to websites. They perform almost the same advertising functions. Read more. 

3. Social networking sites.  A social networking service (also social networking site, SNS or social media ) is a platform to build social networks orsocial relations among people who share similar interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections. Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter has become a place where firms can now market and advertise there products without spending money. 4. Email marketing. Email marketing is directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. It usually involves using email to send ads, request business, or solicit sales or donations, and is meant to build loyalty, trust, or brand awareness. Email marketing can be done to either sold lists or a current customer database. Broadly, the term is usually used to refer to sending email messages with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers, to encourage customer loyaltyand repeat business, acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately, and adding advertisements to email messages sent by other companies to their customers. 5. Radio. Radio is the use of radio waves to carry information, such as sound, by systematicallymodulating some property of electromagnetic energy waves transmitted through space, such as their amplitudefrequencyphase, or pulse width. When radio waves strike anelectrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. Television. Television or TV is an electronic broadcast system in which special providers transmit a continuous program of video content to the public or subscribers by way of antenna, cable, or satellite dish, often on multiple channels. Television is a very good means of informing people about a product since almost everybody uses it in their homes. 


7. Internet. The Internet, sometimes called simply "the Net," is a worldwide system of computer networks - a network of networks in which users at any one computer can, if they have permission, get information from any other computer (and sometimes talk directly to users at other computers). The Internet is a very a good place of advertising a product due to the vast majority of people that are engaged in it daily. 


8. Magazine. A magazine is a periodical containing a collection of articles, stories, pictures, or other features. Magazines are publications , usually periodical publications, that are printed or electronically published (the online versions are called online magazines .) They are generally published on a regular schedule and contain a variety of content. They are generally financed by advertising , by apurchase price , by prepaid subscriptions. You can buy or subscribe for a page in a magazine and write articles about your business just to advertise your product. Read more 

9. Newspapers. This is similar to a magazine but with some differences. A newspaper a paper that is printed and distributed usually daily or weekly and that contains news, articles of opinion, features, and advertising. 

10. Billboards. The most common definition of a billboard is an outdoor sign or poster you usually see on freeways, highways and streets.

Proper use of these advertising routes will create a good success in any business venture.
